Antonio Dorca specializes in Spanish intellectual history, Peninsular prose fiction,
modern Catalan literature and critical theory and narrative techniques. He has published
articles on 19th century Spanish novelists in the U. S. and Spain and is the author of
the book, The Dawn of Modern Criticism in Spain. He is a native of Barcelona, Spain. 

Dorca has been teaching at Macalester since 1994.
