Abstract
Master's Research Project Kent State University, Kent, Ohio The Lorain County Community College (LCCC) Library and Learning Resources Center strives to "be the premier applied research library in Lorain County serving students, faculty, businesses, and the community." Because the LCCC Library website is the primary tool for accessing the rich resources and diverse services it offers to the user community, a usability study was conducted to assess and improve the effectiveness and utility of the current website. even before the testing was complete, the observations, coupled with the participants' verbal and written comments, began to reveal usability problems that hindered research performance. User behaviors provided valuable insights. By watching users and documenting their behaviors, possible solutions to usability issues began to emerge.
