Dr. Olmsted has been teaching at Liberty since 2003. She attend undergraduate at Liberty University and Longwood University majoring in Chemistry and Biology. She obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1999. She practiced as a Cardiology and Critical Care Clinical pharmacist for several years prior to teaching full time. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy specialist a distinction held by only 3000 pharmacists world wide. She continues to practice as a clinical pharmacist at Centra Health in Lynchburg, VA. Dr. Olmsted is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Liberty University. She feels a strong calling to teaching and enjoys interacting with her students. Her research interest areas include: pain management, cardiology and critical care. She currently teaches both undergraduate and graduate pharmacology.
