Dr Angela Adrian BBA, MIM, JD, LLM, PhD 

Angela Adrian started her career in business after acquiring a Masters degree from
Schiller International University in London. After working for a number of years, she
decided to focus on law. She received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University, New
Orleans. She then became a qualified attorney in Louisiana. After practicing for a few
years, she specialized in Commercial Law and gained an LLM with distinction from the
University of Aberdeen. Concurrently, she became a solicitor in England and Wales. Dr.
Adrian practiced for a while before becoming an academic. She then pursued a PhD in which
she explored the nature of law in virtual worlds which was published a monograph entitled
“Law and Order in Virtual Worlds: Exploring Avatars, their Ownership and Rights”.
Currently, Dr. Adrian is Director of Research at Southern Cross University where she
teaches Intellectual Property Law, Information Technology Law, Entertainment Law,
Commercial Law, Criminal Process and Finance Law. Her research interests are intellectual
property, virtual reality, money laundering, internet law, privacy, commercial law,
international trade law, oil and gas law, and entertainment law. She is the Editor of the
International Journal of Intellectual Property Management and will be co-authoring the
4th edition of “Intellectual Property: Text and Essential Cases”.
