Dr. Pierce received a BA and MA in philosophy from Michigan State University, and a
Ph.D. in philosophy from Loyola University Chicago. His area of expertise, broadly
speaking, is in ethics and social and political philosophy, and more specifically in the
philosophy of race, and the critical theory of Jurgen Habermas. 

He joined the philosophy faculty at Sacred Heart in 2012.
