As Head, Acquisitions in the University Libraries at the University of Rhode Island, I manage the materials budget of approximately $3.8 million. An advocate of open access and scholarly communication reform, I chaired the University's Ad-Hoc Committee on Open Access in 2012/13 and played an instrumental role in the passage of an open access policy by the University of Rhode Island Faculty Senate. I am currently the Faculty Senate Designate for the URI Open Access Policy, Co-Chair of the ACRL New England Chapter Scholarly Communication Interest Group, and on the editorial board of the open access journal Publications, published by MDPI. I am the Libraries' subject selector and liaison for business, labor relations and human resources, economics, and environmental and natural resource economics. I am a member of a number of HELIN Consortium and University committees and served for over ten years on the Board of Trustees of the South Kingstown Public Library. From 2003-2009 I was Head, Serials Unit / Electronic Resources Librarian, during which time I coordinated the conversion of the vast majority of the Libraries’ periodical subscriptions to online format. From 1995-2003 I held the position of Reference/ Bibliographer, Business and was active in developing the Libraries’ highly regarded information literacy program.
