A native of Mexico, Ana Elena Fierro Ferraez's own research interests are in the area of law and economics, public policy and governmental accountability and transparency. She obtained her law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, a master of laws degree from the University of Georgia and a master of philosophy from Univesidad Anáhuac Mayab. She teaches at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas, where she also directs the program on regulatory analysis.
