About Amy Leisenring

Dr. Amy Leisenring is a sociology professor and the Associate Dean for Inclusive Student Success in the College of Graduate Studies at San Jose State University. Dr. Leisenring earned a B.A. in Sociology from Miami University in Ohio, an M.A. in Sociology from New Mexico State University, and a Ph.D. in Sociology (with certification in both Women’s Studies and Graduate Teacher Training) from the University of Colorado. Her scholarship has been in the areas of intimate partner violence and the sociology of higher education, and she has been active in the Pacific Sociological Association, including currently serving as Secretary.
