Amber Benham is a graduate of the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and a former
online editorial assistant at Edible Manhattan. She currently reports on breaking news
for The Wall Street Journal. Emerging from the wheat fields of Kansas, Benham fled the
Midwest at the age of 21 and came to New York to find her foodie niche. She fell in love
with the city, the restaurants and her students in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. After
teaching Spanish there for 3 years, she packed up her things and moved to Malaga, Spain.
For two years she basked in the sun of the Costa del Sol and tried to master Andalucian
cooking, but teaching English to get by wasn’t enough of a challenge. So now she’s back
in the Big Apple, hoping to eat, cook and write about it in perfect AP style.
