Bodies and Identities in the Construction of Leadership Capital
Abstract
This research investigates how a leader’s physical body and its presentation in the media affects how they are viewed as a leader. It suggests that fully-covered bodies with minimal skin exposed presents a view that these leaders are physically invincible. In contrast bodies which have more skin exposed tend to present and be perceived as being flawed in leadership or more subject to the limitations of human fragility.Suggested Citation
