Abstract

Examining the stories of how white lesbians describe the process of selecting sperm donors for insemination, sociologists Maura Ryan and Amanda Moras identify how white women who choose white donors rely on racial markers, while avoiding overt discussions of race, to explain their racial preferences in childrearing.
