PhD (Medical Science) - Karolinska Institute, Sweden Master of Physiotherapy - Griffith University Bachelor of Exercise Science - Griffith University After completing Australian based degrees in Exercise Science and Physiotherapy, Dr Allan Abbott has developed extensive international experience as a clinician, teacher and researcher. Notable experience includes roles as a clinician and clinical teacher at Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden as well as a physiotherapy consultancy for the Swedish National Rugby Union Team. Dr Allan Abbott received his PhD at Karolinska Institute in Sweden after completing research on the treatment of chronic back pain for which he received the equivalent of $200 000 funding over 4 years. He has been co-investigator in additional research grants in Sweden amounting to approximately $1 000 000 and has also held a post-doctoral funded position at Karolinska Institute for research on chronic neck pain. As of August 2012, Dr Allan Abbott has commenced a Assistant Professor position in the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at Bond University.
