Alka Jauhari received her M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from Lucknow
University in India. Her areas of specialization include international organizations,
international law, South Asian politics, and African politics. Her doctoral dissertation
is titled “Africa and the Super Powers.” 

Her areas of research focus on third world politics with particular emphasis on the
politics of Africa. Dr. Jauhari has presented papers regarding African political
development at several professional conferences. She has been teaching at the University
for many years, and was added to the full-time faculty as an Assistant Professor
beginning in Fall 2009.
