A native of Mexico, Alberto Benítez's own research interests are in the area of
civil law and law and economics. His law degree is from the Instituto Tecnológico
Autónomo de México. He also earned a master's degree in law from Yale University. He
teaches at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. He also has
lectured on constitucional law and civil procedure at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma
de México, and served on the editorial board of Conjeturas.
