Dr. Aida Hutz-Midgett is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counselor
Education at Boise State University. Born and raised in Brazil, she has been residing in
the United States since 1991. Dr. Hutz-Midgett obtained her doctoral degree in
Educational Psychology, with a Counseling Psychology emphasis, as well as her master’s
degree in Community Counseling, from Northern Arizona University. Her clinical
experiences include completing an APPIC pre-doctoral psychology internship at a
university counseling center and being a crisis counselor. Additionally, she has been
involved in a therapeutic program taking youth to Brazil to serve underprivileged
communities. Her scholarly interests include socio-racial consciousness raising,
cross-cultural studies, and other areas related to counselor education.
