I received my Ph.D. in economics from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA in 1993. I worked with the National University of Singapore (NUS) from 1992-2000. I have also worked at the World Bank, Washington, D.C. and have taught courses at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE). I have also spent time with leading institutions in economics and finance and worked as a consultant with them. These include Limberg Institute of Financial Economic (LIFE), the Netherlands, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), CitiGroup, Haans Seidel Foundation and the UNDP. I have served as Acting Head of Economics Department at Bond on several occasions. I am currently co-Director of Globalisation and Development Centre at Bond, co-Director of Macro Research Cluster at LUMS and Director of Quality Assurance Program for Sur University College in Oman. I also served as Editor of Economics Newsletter at NUS.
