Abstract

This report examines the role of part time work, school-based work experience and enrolment in Technical and Further Education (TAFE) or Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects, on educational and occupational plans. This data is relevant to addressing problems of skill shortages in the workplace. Research shows that additional career development support needs to be established for students who choose to undertake vocational study and various forms of organised work experience. [p.4, ed]
