Application of Optimal Control to the Epidemiology of Tuberculosis Transmission.
Abstract
In this paper we apply optimal control theory to a simple SEIR disease model of tuberculosis transmission dynamics. For this model, controls representing chemoprophylaxis and treatment are incorporated to reduce the latently infected and actively infected individual populations, via application of the Pontryagins Maximum Principle of optimal control theory.
