Wei Luo, Southern Illinois University School of Law Library

Abstract

Revised version of winning paper in 1996 New Members Division competition.

Mr. Luo presents a research guide that briefly reviews the major sources of Chinese law and Chinese legal publishing. He then presents a selective annotated bibliography covering both primary and secondary sources of Chinese legal information. Internet resources are also provided. While the guide and bibliography focus on English language materials, they also include some important sources published in Chinese. The author concludes by describing a strategy for updating Chinese law using resources available in North America.
